You’ve written the book, but what about the blurb? I think just about every writer (ever) has had to face the dreaded blurb. Some may call it cover copy or brief synopsis, but no matter the term, the object of our hatred is the same. Writers are forced to take their magnifical novel and describe it in a few hundred words.
One of the favorite things I told my editor was, “If I could describe my novel in three hundred words don’t you think I would have just done that and called it good? Instead, I spent months on eighty thousand words!” I communicate with her via email which makes reading the tone of a message difficult, but I don’t think she was amused.
So, because the lovely word whipper (and our readers) require blurbs, I’m here to help you take your awesomeness and describe it in under three hundred fantabulous words.
